Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So some blog entries will cover multiple game days. If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! At the bottom of the page, you'll be able to find links to all of the entries. Or read my review.

Day 104

I connected to the Happy Home Network to check out the new challenge for March, which is challenge #6. This month's theme is "a seascape on the horizon."

Two large items are unlocked with this challenge, an iceberg and a submarine. But I decided to save those for indoors, where I'd be able to use ocean-themed carpet and wallpaper. So outdoors, I just gave King Nook's house a blue roof and a blue fish door. Since I couldn't fill the yard with water, I just flooded it with blue hydrangeas instead.

Inside, I used the ocean-horizon wall and water floor. The submarine is yellow by default (naturally), but it can be customized to be red, blue, or black instead. Both the iceberg and the submarine are very large (3x3 spaces), so you can't use more than four of them in total in this room.

I gave King Nook his own private island, along with a throne for him to rule from. Unfortunately, his island is very small and there's no room for anything else. Oh, and it's surrounded by icebergs and it's too dangerous for the submarine to save him. Enjoy being a Nooksicle, yes yes!

If you'd like to chill with King Nook, go to project code 0207-5752-141. To unlock the iceberg and submarine for yourself, make sure you participate in the challenge by March 16th!
