Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog

Hello, and welcome to my Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Blog! I'm Jeff and here you can follow along with my adventures in the game. Unlike other Animal Crossing games, Happy Home Designer does not run in real-time. So some blog entries will cover multiple game days. If you'd like, you can start from the beginning or just jump right in! At the bottom of the page, you'll be able to find links to all of the entries. Or read my review.

Day 129

Whitney the wolf was out on Main Street today, and she wanted a refined home with lots of white furniture. I decided to help her out.

Since she wanted everything to be white, I picked a snow-covered location for her home. I gave her a small zen house with a white brick exterior, white overlap roof, white lovely door, and a picket fence. I then added some cedar trees, shrubs, and a newly-unlocked wood bench outside. A fluffy rug was placed outside her doorstep, and I filled in much of the empty space with white lillies.

In addition to the wood bench, the following furniture is also unlocked with this project: The princess table, reception chair, cushion, box of tissues, and lily of the valley (potted flower).

Inside, Whitney only insisted on two white flowers: Casablanca lillies and white carnations. I gave her a white carpet floor, neutral wall, white picture windows, and white blinds. I used some minimalist furniture in addition to the new items, and also a Cupid bench and a kitchen sink.

I uploaded the room to the Happy Home Network; enter project code 0425-7754-049 to give it a visit.

Day 130

The next day, I used an Amiibo figure to summon Reese. As with other Amiibo jobs, Reese didn't have a specific request. She left it up to me, and I already knew what I wanted to do: recreate Re-Tail.

For the outside, I chose a zen house with a pink-barn exterior, teal shingle roof, a lovely door, and a pink fence. For the yard, I tried to recreate the location of Re-Tail in my New Leaf town of Forest. I used some brick paths, gold roses, and a pool to substitute for the nearby pond.

Indoors, I used a pink shanty wall and plank flooring. The 8 x 6 room isn't really large enough to do Re-Tail justice, but I tried my best. I used some rare display rugs to display the items up for sale (various furniture items and some beans), and I used a tool shelf and some wooden stools for Cyrus' customization area. It's not perfect, but hopefully you can at least see the resemblance to Re-Tail.
